My Story

Background

I moved to Canada from Myanmar to start high school. After trying different paths, I found my passion in software development in 2020 at the University of Windsor. I recently earned my Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus on AI and machine learning.

Why Software Development?

I've been curious about how websites work since I first got internet access in 2010. When I discovered modern tools like React and TypeScript, I realized I could build websites, mobile apps, and desktop apps all with the same skills. That possibility excited me, and I've been coding ever since.

Teaching & Mentorship

I've spent over 2 years as a teaching assistant, helping 250+ students learn web development and systems programming. I enjoy explaining complex topics in simple terms. My teammates from my capstone project said working together inspired them to pursue React development careers.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

At age 19, I started a VPS hosting business with 130 customers, handling everything from sales to technical support. Today, I'm building CartDash, a cross-platform shopping list app. I love creating products that solve real problems.

Research & Innovation

My master's thesis focused on using AI to generate high-quality synthetic data. I've co-authored 3 publications at top-tier venues including SIGIR '25, SIGIR '26, and CanadianAI '26. At SIGIR '25, my team achieved up to 82x improvement over existing methods. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI.

Looking Ahead

I'm excited to join a team where I can combine my full-stack development skills with AI/ML knowledge. I want to build products that make a real difference and continue learning from talented people around me.
